Axcil Jefferies was back in action this weekend with Kessel Racing. The Swiss motorsport team has enlisted Jefferies services for the Asian Le Mans series. He is driving a Ferrari 488 GT3 alongside Roman Ziemian and Francesco Zollo in the GT Pro/Am class. Jefferies also competed in this same series last year but was driving a Porsche 911 GT3R for GP Extreme. During that season Axcil managed two overall class wins with the team. As a little bonus Easter egg for Formula One fans; James Vowles aka the Mercedes Formula One Chief Strategist was driving for Garage 59 in their Mclaren 720S GT3

Driving in the GT Pro/AM class, Axcil was out of contention for the overall GT class podium but he managed to bring the Kessel Racing Ferrari home in P2 in class, taking the last stint at the pitch-black Dubai Autodrome. The second Asian Le Mans 4 Hour race was run on Sunday with the team starting P1 in class and 4th overall.

P2 in class in race 1! Great team effort from everyone and nice to reward the guys with a podium!

Overall really happy with the day, great quali, strong race pace… Looking forward to fighting again tomorrow💪🏼

In the second race, Kessel Racing started on pole for the class before slipping to P3, behind Race 1’s winner, SPS Automotive Performance Mercedes AMG GT3 and the Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3R. The race itself was pretty straight forward with only a few short full course yellow’s slowing the racing. Once again Axcil Jefferies was tasked with bringing the Kessel Racing Ferrari home; taking the last two stints in the dark. Jefferies did manage to climb up to P2 ahead of the Herberth 911, driving flawlessly to keep the Porsche in P3.

Axcil and his Kessel Racing team will be in action again next weekend; with two 4 hour races in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina circuit. They will certainly be trying to improve and take that top step on the 19th and 20th February.
