It should come as no surprise that March comes with price increases for fuel given the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict. Whilst Russian companies haven’t as yet been directly sanctioned; oil buyers have been hesitant to buy the commodity in fear of falling foul of the sanctions. Relief may arrive in the coming weeks with Iran poised to increase production. That is if a favourable nuclear deal is hashed out.
US denominated fuel has seen an increase of 7c compared to last month; with both diesel and petrol now selling at US$1.51. Petrol remains at E0, with no ethanol blending required. Diesel is now priced at ZWL$195.99, up from ZWL$168.17. Zimbabwe Dollar petrol sees similar increases; rising from ZWL$167.91 to ZWL$195.72.
