American Formula One team Haas has been linked with Russian fertilizer producer Uralkali since the beginning of the 2021 season. The partnership has been rife with controversy since its inception. From its livery choice; which many saw as mimicking the Russian flag in the aftermath of a Russian doping scandal. To its rookie driver Nikita Mazepin and sexual assault claims. Nikita is the son of Uralkali’s CEO Dmitry Mazepin.
Given the current geopolitical situation, there have been doubts over whether the Russian Grand Prix would still take place later this year. Haas F1 Team will present its VF-22 in a plain white livery, minus Uralkali branding, for the third and final day of track running at Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya on Friday 25 February. Nikita Mazepin will drive as planned in the morning session with Mick Schumacher taking over in the afternoon. No further comment will be made at this time regarding team partner agreements.
